Test Review

Today in class we went over what is going to be on the test, and what we should study for the test. We looked over our notes and talked about the letter to Garcia, Greeks, Socrates, and globalization. The letter to Garcia was written about how Americans have become lazy lazy and when they get a job they pay someone else to do it. This letter was sent to General Garcia but was sent to President McKinley to give to General Garcia. We also talked about Greeks and their lifestyles and inventions. The Greeks invented many things like democracy, theater, philosophy, poetry, the Olympics, and much more. In the year 508 BC the Greeks overthrew there government. Another big topic is Socrates. Socrates was a powerful philosopher who made people think in a different way by asking why. His big quote was "the examined life is not worth living." Socrates died a very painful death but he took his death like a man and died with pride. He was charged with corrupting the youth of Athens and disrespecting the gods. Globalization is the interconnection of different parts of the world. It results in the expansion of international, cultural, economic, and political activities.
